Dublin – A truly marvellous experience
Students of 7 ABC on a language journey to Ireland
We set off on our trip to Ireland at the crack of dawn on May 13th . Everyone was excited, even more so as it had been the first flight for some of the students. Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, all the students as well as the teachers Mag. Daniela Wirnsberger-Künster, Mag. Gernot Zirker and Mag. Josef Schuster couldn’t wait to get on the bus to Galway. We spent the night in bunk beds in a hostel in Galway city from which we embarked on a tour around Connemara including the Cliffs of Moher. The next day we visited the Rock of Cashel – a medieval site famous for the coronation of the Kings of Munster. After that we went back to Dublin where our host parents had already been waiting. From Monday to Thursday we had morning classes in English and in the afternoon we enjoyed the wonderful sights of Dublin, such as the Dublinia Viking Centre or Trinity College including the Book of Kells. On Thursday afternoon we participated in an Irish Dance Party on the occasion of which we learnt how to dance Ceili. Finally, on Saturday we went on a day trip to Glendalough- a natural reserve in the Wickow Mountains. It was a wonderful journey we will always keep in mind!
